Science Laboratory

 

The Science laboratory is a fully equipped, well ventilated space for students to conduct their practical work and experiments. The lab is also used by the junior students. There is a lab assistant assisting the teachers at all times whilst the lab is in use.

 

And now after having made the 'big move' to our new Secondary school premises, RIS boasts two state of the art laboratories with a fully equipped preparation room.  The range of experimenting available to a child is only limited by their imagination (and of course, common science sense!).

 

Library

 

We are very proud of our library as it is full of knowledge just waiting for the students to explore and discover its wealth of facts and figures. We have a wide range of books appropriate for students from Grades 6 - 12 covering both the London Edexcel and Sri Lankan Government syllabuses. Children also have access to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction material as we strongly believe that the more a child reads, the broader his or horizons become. A wide range of magazines and journals is also made available

 

Membership is open to all staff and students.  Library hours are between 7.30am and 4.30pm on weekdays and between 8am and 1.30pm on Saturdays. However students are only permitted to use the library until 2pm during weekdays.

 

Book Shop

 

We also have an on-premise bookshop where children can purchase discounted school books and stationery. The shop also has school caps, bags and ties.

Parents can also purchase: Parent Teacher and Parent/School communication Guides, Student Progress Cards.

Photocopy facilities are available for use.

 

Computer Lab

 

A fully equipped computer lab is available for our Secondary School students with each individual child having access to his or her own computer; no need to share! We also have a separate IT theory room.
